Yacht 1900 - 5 Pfennig yacht together with 3 Pfennig crown, this with overprint China, both stamps with clean postmarks from Swakopmund 24/11 04 tied on wonderful postcard with great motive "Lüderitzbucht from the west (Angra Pequena)", sent with requirement text first to Doberan, from there forwarded to the recipient to Magdeburg (pls. see arrival postmarks). The sender (Captain Arnold) was a former officer who was in Tsingtau / Kiautschou and then lieutenant during the Boxer Rebellion in China. After his transfer to DSW Africa he used as a philatelic "gimmick" this stamp from China as "additional franking" on his postcard. The Nevertheless the stamp was out of course, also used in the wrong german area/colonie and not valid. A very interesting piece, which has passed through the mail orderly.
